Not Quite...Almost...37 Weeks

I thought I was entering my 37th week of pregnancy - but apparently my calculations have been off by a few days. Regardless, I'm not quite at 37 weeks, but am almost there.

Today I had my weekly doctor's visit. After I peed in the cup (as I do every week) I was told that my doctor had an emergency and was given the option to either see the Nurse Practitioner instead, or reschedule my appointment with the doctor for Friday. Since I was in the hospital last week, and Dr. S knows exactly what's going on with my pregnancy, I decided to reschedule my appointment (nothing against the NP of course!)

For some reason, something possessed me to ask if they could still test my urine sample, since it was there, just in case anything was out of the ordinary. I figured the medical assistant would dip the stick in, tell me all was good, then I could leave. Yeah...no.

Unfortunately she found a trace amount of protein in my urine. This concerned the NP so she had the medical assistant take my blood pressure, which turned out to be high. Then they noticed my ankles and feet were REALLY swollen, which I noticed too because my flip flops were unusually tight. So, instead of leaving, I was told that the NP wanted to see me, and I waited. As I waited, my doctor was able to wrap up the emergency that he had with his other patient and was thus able to see me after all (whoo hoo!)

Considering all of the above, and that my pregnancy is classified as "high risk", the doctor wants me to take a stress test on Friday and see him next Tuesday before he leaves for vacation. Worst case scenario, he cuts my cerclage either Friday or Tuesday and I deliver. Best case scenario, everything is fine and my little guy can hang on until June 2nd for the official date the cerclage will be removed.

Here's hoping all is good and Robert Jr. can hang out till June 2nd! Come on little one, you can do it!!!
